So when I first walked in here I was a little nervous. It looked old, cheap and dingy. But it had good reviews on Yelp, so I was going to try it out anyways. My first impression was that the water tasted off... but didn't smell. I stuck to the coffee. At least if there was something wrong with the water they had to boil it first. My boyfriend ordered the chicken fajita skillet which was incredible. A huge portion with sautéed veggies and of course chicken and cheese. I think I ate more of his entrée then my own. I ordered a spinach and feta omelet. It was good, with a lot of fresh spinach, but the feta made it a bit too salty. Overall, the food was great, service was okay but not so friendly, ambience subpar. But the kitchen was open which made me feel a bit better about things.

If you like rules on drink refills, terrible customer service, and finding hair in your food, then come eat here. When I told our server about the long black hair I found in my soup, she stood at our table and mixed through it with my spoon (I'm guessing she didn't believe me, even though it was sitting right on top. She basically hid it). I was very calm with her, but still felt like I wasn't being listened to. The ice water had a wet dog aroma, the coffee was lukewarm and terrible, and I never thought a restaurant could be so incredibly bad at making a cold sandwich. They basically slapped a handful of corned beef on some bread and pulled some lettuce and tomato out of the garbage. Our dirty plates were left on our table, and the cashier had to go find our server just so she could split our bill, which she claimed she offered to do for us (but never did). I've read a lot of the reviews on here, and some people have had experiences way worse than mine. I DO NOT suggest ever coming here, even if you're desperate. Anywhere else is better.

I've been coming here since I was little. I remember getting ice cream, salad bar and kids meals. Now I go for the soup and sandwiches. The night manager is the nicest man ever. So funny and friendly! Good cookies too!!

Two words to sum it up. Blueberry pancakes. Seriously. And the skillet with ham, bacon, country gravy... whoa. The best grease pit ever. Their country gravy is the closest to my own gravy that I've ever had at a restaurant, which means actual chunks of sausage in the mix. Noms. I would only give this place 4.5 stars, their service can act kind of crabby sometimes, but the food makes it worth putting 5 stars down for the world to see. I think we'll have breakfast for dinner tonight.

This is a diner, right down to the Jello on the menu. This family owned and operated restaurant has survived renovations and fires and always remains the same. Giant sandwiches, great breakfast food, of course Grecian chicken and decent salads. Pie by the slice for dessert. It is one of those places you can always count on. After change upon change in the area, The Manor remains the same.

I have ordered takeout from the Manor three times in the last year, and the consistently rude attitudes of the hostesses have been mildly irritating, but they haven't caused me to stop coming, since it's a quick in-and-out interaction. The quality of the food is about what you would expect from a cafeteria, but it comes in generous portions. It's great for the day that you are hungry and lazy and want more variety than pizza delivery. Yesterday, my group of 4 decided to dine in. I would not recommend this to anyone, and we will not be back. The waitress was condescending and inattentive. See Mike M's 11/9/14 review - he's already explained it. I will add that the pickle spears were mush, the crackers were stale, and after the waitress brought us our check she never returned, even though some of us were still eating. I get the distinct impression that their attitudes are due to our ages - we are all in our twenties, and the Manor caters more to the 60+ crowd. My friends and I dine out frequently, speak respectfully to restaurant staff, forgive small mistakes, and tip 20%. This age discrimination is undeserved, unusual, and it's bad for business. To our waitress: Ma'am, if you serve a table like you don't expect a great tip, that is a self-fulfilling prophecy. To the management/hosts: I know that your restaurant has been a fixture of the community for a very long time, and I don't expect 1-star yelp reviews to damage your reputation too much. However I don't think that your restaurant is retaining the loyalty of gen X and millennial diners, many of whom ate there as kids, and that is a shame for you.

First choice had a line out the door, so we ran over here. The plusses occurred pretty early. My wife like the wood carving of the bear out front, and we got seated right away. They were quick to make with the coffee and tea. While we were placing our order, a party of 6 was seated next to us. Minuses? Well, if I've already ordered, I'd think that I'd get my food BEFORE the party of 6 that arrived while we were ordering gets theirs. And when I order my eggs poached HARD, it would be really swell if yellow glop didn't run all over my corned beef hash when I stuck my fork in the yolk. Oh, and when we say we'd like to take the oatmeal and the toast in a to-go container, it would be fabulous if you didn't take the toast and throw it away. I'd have to be pretty desperate for breakfast before I went back.

I agree with other Yelpers this place does need a makeover. Whenever we go here on a Sunday for breakfast it is packed (typically with post church goers and people that look like they have hangovers) but we always get seated promptly and the servers we have had in the past have been attentive. Our food always comes out like we ordered- no complaints. We will be returning in the near future.

The Manor is the type of place where your family brought you as a little kid. It's the type of place where you see your neighbors, people from church, or school. The food is exactly the same every time. The waitresses are sweet and attentive. Yes it could use a makeover but that may take away from the charm of the place. It's a community staple, has good food and a great environment.

My family and I have come to this restaurant for the past 30 years. We are an easygoing group and rarely complain, even about poor service. I can honestly say that after our experience at the Manor this last time, we will NEVER return. Yes, it was that awful. I came to the Manor for breakfast with a group of 6. It was a Saturday morning and we had a 9:00 reservation. Our group was a bridal party, we were there to have breakfast prior to getting ready for a wedding. 4 of us arrived promptly at 9:00, the other 2 were on their way, but close by. We asked to sit at our table and were told we could not, and that we had to wait till the other 2 arrived. We explained that we wanted to sit and have coffee and that the other 2 were not far away. We were still told no. We explained that this was a RESERVATION, the table was empty and just waiting for us. Still no. Another group next to us was having a similar problem. In addition, they were requesting a table away from the door and the hostess (an older woman) began making fun of them for saying they would be cold by the door. Anyway, back to our group. We weren't just told no, we were very rudely and loudly told no. When we expressed that we were very unhappy with the way we were being treated, the owner (another older woman) told us she didn't care if we were upset because her restaurant has been around for 35 years, and if she lost our business she didn't care. They finally agreed to seat us, but the woman seating us (a third woman) proceeded to argue with us the whole time. She told us that every single restaurant in the world follows this policy, and she has never heard of a restaurant seating a party before everyone has arrived. Um, what? The whole incident was ridiculous. The owner and the 2 hostesses were the rudest people I have ever encountered in my life. If they want a policy like this, fine, but they should have told us when the reservation was made. The next best thing to do would have been seating us, and then explaining their policy for the future. Yelling at us was totally uncalled for. Oh, and the group who didn't want to sit by the door got yelled at, too. They were complaining amongst themselves, and one of the women yelled, "Oh knock it off!" to them. Appalling. The food was good and our waitress was perfectly pleasant. No complaints there. But the owner and the hostesses have lost the business of 3 families that really like to spend our money at restaurants. I have never written a bad review anywhere, because I don't generally get upset enough to. The fact that I took time out of my day to write this is a good indicator of how horrible we were treated. Edited to add: After re-reading my review, I realized I failed to mention that the restaurant was only about half full when this was all happening. There was also no one else waiting, besides the group getting yelled at along with us. The fact that the restaurant was only half full makes it even more ridiculous that they refused to let us sit at our reserved table.

Came here with my family, 3 small kids. We we treated as if we had a disease. My kids are not as loud as others and not the quietest. They behave well in public. It's sad because I pass by this place everyday going to work. It usually costs us 50 bucks at breakfast. Never again for us.

I cannot tell you how many times I have driven past this restaurant and not given it a second thought until my friend moved right down the street. She was singing its praises, so we all went there on a Saturday morning around 9 am. There was no wait for our group of six, which was nice. They didn't have kid's menus for the kids (or at least we weren't offered one) and there wasn't a kid's section on the menu, anyway. The kids had eaten a bit before, though, so they just decided to share with us anyway. Our waitress was a bit...brisk. I don't think she smiled once. She was all business and it was slightly awkward. It was almost as if we were a big inconvenience for her. So 1 star for service.... I mean, it was fast-ish, but she was craaaaaaabby. And the food...meh. My veggie omelet was not very good at all. I like when the eggs and the veggies are melded together, and this was just sort of eggs-wrapped-around-some-greasy-veggies. Meh. But mine came w/ silver dollar pancakes that the kids seemed to enjoy. My husband got a stack of pancakes, though, and these were REALLY good. They were better than the silver dollar ones that came with my meal, and they were SUPER fluffy. So delicious! I kept stealing bites of his food :) For four meals (including four drinks), it was $43 without tip. So it was a bit pricey for mediocre food.

Amazing breakfast from this place, the taste is incredible! And to top it all off, the portions are enormous, allowing you to enjoy all the more flavor. If you like omelettes, this is the place for you.

Ill be honest, I grew up coming to this place. It was pretty much the only breakfast place around until Randall road started getting built on. So ill cut them some slack and give them a 2 star just because they bring back childhood memories. The food and service are just ok. The omelets are a joke (flat as a crepe). Skillets are descent. Nothing specular about this place. I go back once in a while to remember the good old days but would not say its the go to place for breakfast in the area.

I've been eating here since I was a small child, with my dad. I'm now bringing my young son with me for breakfast as well. He is two and quite happy with the food and atmosphere, as am I. It has been consistently great for the more than 30 years I've been coming here. The staff is also consistent, with servers working there for many years. The food is wonderful, consistent, and dependable. Well worth the 20 minute drive to get here for us, on which I drive past three other breakfast restaurants.

This East Dundee staple has not changed much over the last two(+) decades. Moderately priced (senior friendly), little diner. Breakfast is never a bad choice here. I particularly enjoy their skillets. Service is quick, but the old ladies who run the desk/register can be a bit rude. I guess I don't mind, they have a good selection with great prices.

I went here for breakfast and it is a hole in the wall that is hopelessly stuck in the 70's. The restaurant was dark inside ( I could barely read a newspaper) and they also didn't have wifi service (even more proof it's stuck in the past). I ordered basted eggs, sausage links, pancakes and a side of Greek toast - all three were poorly executed. The first eggs were served with the whites still not cooked and I sent them back, the second eggs were overcooked with burned lace and fully cooked yolks. The sausage was (one of) the grossest things I have ever tased - I swear it was 90% FAT. The toasted Greek bread was dry and cold and they didn't butter it, like I had asked. By the time I got to the pancakes, I was ready to run out of here, but I left hope that they would be edible (since the restaurant's name has "Pancake House" in it. Boy was I wrong!!! They were raw in the middle - I didn't even bother to send them back I just left and will never be back!

I give good marks to the manor. Ridiculous consistency. They never burn eggs (very rare). Around $10.00 for an omelette w toast and hash browns. A good family runs the joint. Coffee cups are tiny. Just sayin....

I would have chose zero stars if I could have. This place is a dump. Every one that said the food is good must be a part of the restaurant staff or family. For the price there are several options in the area that would far surpass the food and service provided by this establishment. To begin the place is dirty and run down. The smell in the air is not of delicious food but more of a dingy, disgusting, spoiled food smell. The hostess was rude. I only wish we left right then and spared ourselves the experience. The coffee was barely warm and don't even get me started on the water. The menu was unorganized which made ordering difficult. We ordered our so called breakfast and once it arrived at the table we seriously wondered how can this place ever be busy? Everything was digusting. We've never had bad bacon before so thanks for that. The "Manor skillet" was spoiled by using canned mushrooms. The cheese on the skillets was gross. To make matters worse while we are barely choking down this future vomit our entire party was smacked in the face with the most horrific rotten fish smell coming from the kitchen. It was so bad that we just paid and left. We seriously would have preferred McDonald's. We will never, ever attempt to eat here again. Ever.

I like the Manor. It is a very pleasant family restaurant. My favorite dinners are the broiled center cut pork chop or the grouper (very moist, they use a steam baking style).

Rude. Rude. Rude. I have never in my life seen such poor customer relations by an OWNER and her 2 hostesses. Food is okay but I would rather spend my money at a place that appreciates their customers rather than a place that told me they Don't Need my business. Good thing they don't need it cause NEVER again will they get it.

This place is another example of less than mediocre effort. The place hasn't changed in decades. The décor is the same. The menu is the same. The "specials" are the same. The soups are the same. The lackluster service is the same. About all this place can offer are a good typical breakfast and typical sandwiches. But how hard is it to make toast, pancakes, eggs, bacon, hash browns or a BLT, Reuben or patty melt sandwich? I ordered the fish and chips once and got a square piece of previously frozen fish and fries. A fish sandwich from McD's had more flavor! Granted this place is not fine dining, but a frozen piece of frozen processed fish is labeled fish and chips? On a recent visit, five seconds after being seated, the old sour bitty of a waitress greeted me with "Do you know what you want yet?" No Hello or how are you. She came back a few minutes later and took my order. She brought my Reuben sandwich and asked if I wanted the thousand-island dressing. I replied "Yes, that that's what makes it a Reuben." A couple of minutes later she brought it. How many people order a Reuben without the dressing? After I finished, she slapped the check on the table without saying a word. Upon paying my bill at the counter, I mentioned to the hostess(I think the owner also) that it wouldn't cost my waitress a cent to smile and be pleasant to her guests. The hostess replied "she's always like that." Then get rid of her! I told the hostess "she won't change if you don't talk to her about it." No response from the hostess. That tells me the ownership couldn't care less about the service. PS I make the point of her age because I usually always find that the older generation have good manners and know how to treat people.

Displeased with the service. Was not served water or bread ubtil asked. The menu was overwhelming and there are way too many items to choose from that you will literally read the menu for 10 minutes. The expiditer slamed the food on the table... not making eye contact and walked away without asking if we needed anything. My eggs were not cooked right. I did enjoy the pancakes though and that was the only reason I give 2 stars. When I went to pay my bill the hostess completely ignored me until I said something. She was to busy chatting with a server.... unprofeasional. The interior was out dated and desperately needs a remodel. Outside was pretty and good for photo opps.

My husband and I came here for breakfast. We recently moved to the area, and we were driving around looking for a place to eat. When we first walked in, we thought the place was nice and spacious. There weren't a whole lot of people eating, but it still had a nice feel to it. The food turned out very good. The portions are very large. I left with a doggy bag, and had my leftovers later that day. I can't wait to go back, and eat there again. I'm craving it, as I type this!

First time here, Sunday breakfast... pretty simple. Sat us right next to the ice station so you can here them scoop ice into cups throughout your meal. You may be thinking, come on man but really it was so loud you could not hear the person that is talking to you. This went on throughout the entire meal. The coffee was terrible. Nothing like being served coffee with no cream. It came much later. Our waitress was M.I.A most of the time and we only seen here when she came over to get ice I think. We had multiple people stop by. Pancakes came.... with no syrup. Had to wait till the waitress needed some ice to mention it. Came time to pay the bill at the front. The older woman taking care of this didn't say, hello, how are you, how was the meal, or thank you. I think I was invisible, which is exactly what this establishment will be to me. Continue driving up to Randall for a meal.

January 2014 four of us stopped after attending a fishing show in Schamburg. Was always the place to stop when headed home (90mi west) from the Chicago area. Two of us ordered the two pork chop dinner. Yuck!! Absolutely no moisture left in them. Way over cooked. Very disappointed after waiting all day to eat there. Will find another place in the future

Very good restaurant with outstanding menu selection. Four of us went for dinner on January 11, 2014, Saturday evening and ordered a diverse selection of dinner items. All were very good. Be sure to review the "special" page in the menu as it offers almost fifteen dinners. Specials include soup or salad and desert. All meals come with bread/roll basket. Restaurant is large but broken into sections so it can be busy without being too noisy. Washrooms are clean. We will be going there again. Perhaps for breakfast but will expect a crowd if I go on a Sunday as it is a Pancake House!

Went there on Tues 5/7/13 with family for dinner. Wife ordered salad bar and that night and next day was sick. I noticed that the buffet wasn't very chilled. Also daughter ordered rice pudding and the rice was raw/uncooked. Now this is where I get annoyed. Waitress stops by and asks "how is everything?" we point out that the rice pudding was not good and why only to get "really?". Really? what kind of question is that to a customer? Then when going to pay the host does the customary "How was everything?" We tell him and get "Huh? Usually it's pretty good". Not "we'll take a look into that" or "sorry". So if you like your typical pancake house for senior citizens with sub-par food and a thousand and one choices with wait staff and management that doesn't care. This place is your choice. If you think you're money is worth more than that keep looking

First off I have to admit there is some childhood nostalgia to Manor for me. Growing up after going to the barber in St. Charles my mom and I would go to Manor and get the potato pancakes. They had a location right on the river and I would love to be seated by the window and watch it while having breakfast. This location then moved to Elgin and a few years ago to my disappointment closed. That is were Yelp came in. I decided to do a search for manor (after hearing they were a chain) and was surprised to find this location in East Dundee. Much to my surprise it is the same place!!! The potato pancakes here taste the same and so does the coffee (they have great coffee). The Potato pancakes are made fresh and have a hit of Cheddar cheese. This is one of only a few restaurants I will order potato pancakes (they are great at Our Kitchen also). The old 70's style dinner is great also. Plenty of comfortable booths here. The service here is also always spot on. I never see the bottom of my coffee cup. Still one of my favorite breakfast places!! Glad I found it again on Yelp!

I love this place, Been coming here for over a year now after doing a search for Liver and onions in the area. I grew up in the city and there where a lot of Greek family owned restaurants around. theirs not a lot of family restaurants out here that still serve the old favorites like liver and onions, breaded veal cutlet dinners, club sandwiches, BLT's, Reuben's or patty melt's ETC...... this place has a great menu selection. The only thing i wish was a better salad bar more verity like maybe cottage cheese or claw slaw, sliced hard boiled eggs One more thing is the daily specials great verity to choose from..... service is always great just wish they had Dr PEPPER :)

Been coming here for years as the go to place for Sunday breakfast with the family. The food is good, and the prices are more than reasonable. We have had dinner here before, and it is what you might expect for a diner as far as burgers and sandwiches go. The soups that i have had are all really good. Would recommend if you are looking for a good breakfast place in the area.

I have NEVER been in such a hurry to get finished with a meal in all my life!!! We hadn't been here in years, and decided to go for Breakfast there today since all of the GREAT Breakfast Spots were so crowded! From the minute we walked in the door, THE OWNERS, "greeted" us with ZERO enthusiasm! No "Good Morning" and not even the hint of a smile! At our dirty table,we encountered more of the same from the water server to the pissed off looking waitress!!! Our Omelettes were swimming in butter, and one of ours was cold,,,,,,just like the staff!!! No music playing either,,,,just the crashing sound of dishes coming from the bussing station. Will not be returning here!!!

10/10 would visit again. Excellent busboys. They was very polite. They work hard. They know what they're doing. The wait time for the food was excellent. Food was good. It was a reasonable price for the food, maybe take a couple bucks off of an item. Table was clean, enjoyed my meal. Good soft music while eating. Wouldn't recommend sitting next to the bathroom or kitchen doors. The waiters could liven up, when they were singing happy birthday it sounded like they were forced to do it. Great hostess, my daughter loved her. The kids loved George's magic tricks. When I was leaving, I left my sunglasses at the table, but thankfully as I was paying my check one of the busboys gave it back to me. Good to know we still have spirit out there.

I used to have breakfast here with my grandparents when I was a kid. I am now closer to 50 than I am to 40 and this place hasn't changed much. It does have an odd smell and it does need some updating but when I walk in the door, I am flooded by memories of my grandparents, whom I miss dearly. Stopped by for dinner on a Saturday night. 2 adults, 2 teens and two under 10. Almost all of us had breakfast except one of our teens. The food was decent and all of us, except for the hubby, took our leftovers home and had them the next day for lunch. I had the Country Skillet and it was pretty darn good. Totally hit the spot and warmed me up on a unseasonably cold fall night. Hubby also had a skillet and he enjoyed it. Kids had pancakes and loved them. One teen had eggs and the other had.... something. I cannot remember. Not breakfast. But she liked it. Our waitress was amazing. I wish I could remember her name. She was so great with the kids and just wonderful about checking in with us and refilling our coffee.

I have came here for years now, their breakfast is really good. I love getting their Manor skillet. However, I always much rather get the food to go, due to the fact that their staff is VERY RUDE AND HAS ALWAYS ATTITUDE. I feel more like they are racist towards hispanics/blacks. The reason why I feel that way is because over the phone, I wouldn't even recognize that it is the same staff! Until I give a hispanic name for my order, then their attitude completely changes. And even one time instead of Alejandro, we gave the name Alex and no attitude change, UNTIL we picked up the order. It is like night and day! Overall, good food, HORRIBLE STAFF.

Let me start off by saying I am a bit of a foodie. With that in mind this place is true to it's roots - good food at great prices. First off - the service was exellent! I even overhead another waitress asking someone if they wanted extra gravy to take home with their leftovers. Second the food - nothing fancy but what I got was good! They have a very limited salad bar but it met my needs and the three bean salad was a tangy, perfectly cooked surprise! For my entree I got the chicken kiev with rice pilaf and green beans. The rice pilaf was nice (needed a little salt and pepper, that's it) and perfectly cooked. NOW if some of you may yawn at my selection, then you have never had a perfectly executed kiev, with a crisp non greasy exterior, moist flavorful chicken and when you cut into it a river of buttery goodness which act as additional seasoning for the pilaf upon which it rests.

I have been there 3 or four times: very busy family restaurant with the parking lot almost full every time. This is a good sign. Clean with a friendly efficient staff. The decor looks a little stressed - lots of traffic. The dress is casual Very good breakfasts. My wife loves the Swedish Pancakes with lingonberries. I like their sausage. Good coffee and they keep it coming. Reasonably priced. Price for breakfast for two: between 17 - 20 bucks. On Mothers' Day they gave out a rose to every mother. A nice touch.

I'm not a huge fan of breakfast so when I find a place that does breakfast justice I'm all over it with that being said I would have to tilt my hat to the Manor. I went there last week in the afternoon but came in for the breakfast after reading the reviews about their to die for pancakes. I of course didn't end up ordering the pancakes but I got the Manor skillet instead. I was definitely not disappointed. It was a huge portion of eggs made to order, hash browns, sausage, green peppers and mushrooms and lastly cheese, cheese and cheese. My mouth is watering just thinking about it again. I also snuck a bite (or five) off of my boyfriends plate, he got the strawberry pancakes, heavenly is the best way to describe them. It was a gargantuan pancake stuffed with fresh strawberries rolled up and covered with whipped cream....sigh.... I can't wait to go back here, so far two thumbs up from me

Good breakfast, comfortable place. Nothing off-the-wall - just your standard diner fare (which I happen to love). I had the spinach and feta omelette which was delicious. It would be a great hangover breakfast!

This is a great dependable family owned restaurant with great dependable food. We've had amazing service there. In the morning, it can sometimes be a bit slow as far as service goes. I would recommend going in the evening for anything but dinner. You can get a delicious breakfast any time of day, which is really quite perfect as a retreat after a night of having fun. I can find meals that are great for when I'm craving something not so good for me, or when I want to keep it nice and light.

We go to this restaurant for breakfast frequently because it is close. This is the first time (Eloise) was our server. She did a great job because there were (7) seven of us and all the food was served together and hot.

I went here for breakfast with a group of folks this past Sunday. We got there at 9:30, which was just perfect timing. Literally, a 1/2 hour later, the place was hopping, and the wait was much longer. The Manor has an awesome selection of standard breakfast fare. Everyone sampled some major category on the menu - from eggs to skillets to pancakes. The general consensus - the food was good, but nothing to write home about. I had the "Country Skillet", which consisted to eggs, hash browns, cheese, ham, and sausage gravy. It was alright, albeit for two things: 1) the hash browns had so much oil that the shreds magically reassembled themselves into a giant mass globule of potato; 2) the sausage gravy was lukewarm and had no extra-seasoned flavor. The server was attentive, the coffee was plentiful, and the price was just about right. Once again, decent enough food, but certainly not a destination place.

Good food, horrible service. My husband and I ate there 5 or 6 times and EVERY SINGLE TIME we ran into the same issue- rude staff. Not just not friendly or cranky..but plain rude. The only reason we kept on making excuses for them (anyone can have a bad day, right?) and going back there is the food. Yes, they have excellent pancakes, but it's just not worth the aggravation. There are other great restaurants in the area where you actually feel welcomed. We wil not be going back.

Manor has the best pancakes of all the Chicagoland pancake houses I've tried! My rating below is based on a basic breakfast sampling of regular (original) pancakes, sausage, eggs and coffee. I rate Manor Pancake House a 5 star. I eat at Manor whenever I'm not critiquing new pancake houses. It's my favorite place to go to know I'm getting consistently excellent pancakes. Never had a bad experience. Pancake (original) ***** Excellent texture and flavor Sausage (links) **** Eggs (scrambled) **** Coffee ***** great!

I've been going here for years and since I live just down the street I go even more now! Great food and coffee every time, ao if you're looking for a REAL dinner with A+ food this is you're spot.I've even come to know the staff and the owners so it's like a home away from home, they really care and it shows! They have the best pancakes around but what's really great if youre super hungry is their skillets, so much food and soo good!! That just covers breakfast, they also have a great lunch and dinner menu with really great prices. They have weekday specials for breakfast and dinner. I can promise if you go there you will find something you want to eat no matter the time of day because their menu is so big! oh and breakfast is served all day for you breakfast lovers!

My personal standard of excellence when it comes to diners. Food is fantastic, service is professional, the owners are very hands on and seem to genuinely care for the customer/establishment. Have eaten breakfast here for around a decade now and I've never been disappointed by the deliciousness of what I order. I'm a simple guy, and The Manor gets every simple detail down perfectly. I couldn't ask for more and I take everyone I know from out of the area here once for coffee and quality dining.

Kinda goes along the lines of what I said about "Benedict's". Locals have known about this for decades ~ a fantastic family diner. I remember going to this place as a kid after church on Sundays; and still go there regularly! We love the food (first & foremost), as well as the atmosphere. It's an old place with country style & down-home country cooking too!!

Come on, Dundee! It's called "Yelp". You use it to announce one of the best little Pancake houses in the midwest. When I first started traveling for work, I assumed I could find little diners in every city. NOT TRUE! Most cities have crappy diners. Or just IHOP. Don't get me wrong, I do like IHOP. And Bob Evans. And Cracker Barrel. But they don't hold a candle to Manor. I grew up on this place. My whole family did. My aunt pretty much lives there. When I'm in town, I typically get at least one meal there. The pancakes are out of this world. They are the standard that I measure all pancakes against to this day. And while 95% of my meals there have been from the breakfast menu, everything there is good. There service is usually cordial if not friendly. This is a good place to bring kids, take your parents out, or take a date the morning after to help with hangover recovery. This is not the best place for you if you're in that 18-21 range, looking for a place to hang out all night because you're not allowed in the bars yet. They tend to shoo you out a little faster than Deny's will. But if you're eating, you can stay. The interior is nice and clean. There are no frills, but who needs frills when you have such a solid performance in the "diner food" department?

What a delightful, albeit typical "1,000 item menu" restaurant hidden away off of Route 72. We have nicknamed it "The Sinkhole Restaurant" because several years ago the parking lot collapsed...I digress... The selection is substantial and breakfast is served all day and evening. The salad bar is small and simple but surprisingly tasty. Our entrees of chicken-fried steak, roast beef slices and a pork thing were so good (we added our own salt and pepper, but we like the control). The vegetables were excellently prepared, not too mushy. The service was just fine - the senior crowd had just left and we had no problems with the location of our table and the service. It's good to eat out after 5:00 PM

Very busy, always. Quick service. Big menu but breakfast is the best. Have tried lots of items but always return for the spinach and feta cheese omelets. They are the best in the area and I have tried them all! Have never been disappointed in any meal I have had here.
